Broome & Derby Aerial Safari

Embark on an extraordinary five-day aerial photography safari through the wild and magnificent West Kimberley region of Western Australia with Grand Master Photographer Paul Hoelen and aerial expert Scott McCook. This exclusive, small-group workshop 2:1 ratio workshop is designed for photographers seeking to capture the dramatic landscapes of the Kimberley from a truly unique perspective. Using a curated mix of Cessna aircraft, R44 helicopters and drones, along with some traditional ground based landscape opportunities, you’ll photograph breathtaking coastlines, intricate tidal patterns, and the striking contrast of colour and form that only the outback can provide.

Each major aerial flight accommodates two photographers per aircraft, with doors removed to ensure uninterrupted views and optimal shooting opportunities. Drone sessions are thoughtfully integrated throughout the trip, providing additional intimate and creative perspectives.

A carefully considered balance of aircraft, drone and ground-based photography allows us to fully explore each location. Our accommodation—ranging from coastal villas to remote pearl farms and hotels—has been selected to maximise both comfort and access, positioning us precisely where we need to be for the best light and conditions.

Whether you’re an experienced aerial photographer or just looking to refine your craft, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to elevate your work in one of Australia’s most visually striking regions.
