Howdy!

Kiwi born to a Dutch Sailor and an American Nun (now there’s a story of its own) I’ve put my four passports to excellent use before eventually settling on the beautifully wild island of Tasmania, where my love of landscape, people and storytelling really found its home.

My relationship with photography since then has been a decades-long love affair, leading me across an unusually broad spectrum of genres — from fine-art landscapes and aerial explorations to large-scale events, long-term documentary work, portraits, weddings, and commercial projects. I continue to move fluidly between them all. That variety keeps me fresh and continually growing, with each discipline feeding and inspiring the others.

Alongside my photographic work, I guide workshops nationally and internationally, mentor emerging and experienced photographers, write for magazines, and regularly judge photographic competitions around the world.

No matter the setting, the heart of my approach is connection — to people, to place, and to the deeper stories that shape how we see and experience the world. I’m drawn to authentic moments, genuine emotion and a natural style of storytelling that distils the essence of it into imagery that feels accessible, honest and open.

Over the years I’ve been honoured to receive significant recognition for my work, including the title of Grand Master of Photography and numerous national and international awards. But what I value most is the trust people place in me, and the presence and intentionality I bring to each assignment — whether I’m documenting a wedding day, creating imagery for a business, or guiding photographers through remote landscapes across the globe.

Photography is how I connect with others and make sense of the world — and a way to give something meaningful back for all it has given me.
