Join Ben Maze and me for an immersive five-day photographic adventure into the heart of Tasmania's spectacular Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park. Winter brings a special kind of magic to this ancient landscape, where snow-dusted peaks rise above glacial lakes, mist drifts through moss-covered rainforests, and frost transforms the smallest details into extraordinary photographic opportunities. From the iconic reflections of Cradle Mountain in Dove Lake to the quiet beauty of ancient forests, cascading streams and intimate natural details, we'll explore the remarkable diversity of this World Heritage wilderness in its most atmospheric season.

With a flexible itinerary shaped by the ever-changing mountain weather, we'll make the most of whatever nature offers us, whether that's dramatic alpine light, fresh snowfall, swirling mist or the soft, diffused light of the rainforest. Our focus will extend beyond simply capturing beautiful locations to developing your creative vision, refining compositions and discovering your own way of interpreting the landscape. Along the way, we'll share practical techniques including focus stacking, exposure blending and working with challenging light, complemented by personalised guidance and post-processing sessions. There'll also be opportunities to photograph the local wildlife, including wombats and Tasmanian devils, and perhaps even the southern lights if conditions align.

With just six participants and two experienced, award-winning landscape photographers, you'll enjoy plenty of individual attention in a relaxed, supportive and inspiring environment. Having spent many years exploring and photographing Tasmania's wild places, Cradle Mountain remains somewhere I return to with a renewed sense of wonder, particularly in winter when its moods and character are at their most compelling. Whether you're looking to deepen your photographic skills, explore a more personal creative approach or simply immerse yourself in the beauty and stillness of Tasmania's alpine wilderness, we'd love you to join us.
