8 Day South Island Adventure with Grand Master Photographer Paul Hoelen & Scott McCook

Join Scott Jon and me for an unforgettable eight-day photographic journey through the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand's South Island. From towering snow-capped peaks and ancient glaciers to turquoise alpine lakes, wild coastlines, lush rainforests and braided glacial rivers, this is a landscape photographer's paradise. Travelling through some of the country's most spectacular regions, including Aoraki/Mount Cook, Fox Glacier, Arthur's Pass and Lake Tekapo, we'll explore an extraordinary diversity of photographic opportunities, both from the ground and high above.

What makes this adventure particularly special is the opportunity to experience these landscapes from multiple perspectives. With helicopter and fixed-wing flights included, we'll venture into the heart of the Southern Alps to photograph dramatic alpine terrain, intricate glacial patterns and vast mountain landscapes rarely seen from the ground. There will also be opportunities for drone photography where conditions and regulations allow, alongside plenty of time to immerse ourselves in the intimate details, changing light and grand vistas of this remarkable part of the world.

With just six participants, two experienced professional photographers and a dedicated local driver-guide, this is a relaxed, flexible and highly personalised photographic adventure. As a New Zealander, these landscapes have always held a special place in my heart, and I'm excited to share some of their extraordinary beauty and photographic potential with you. We'll follow the best light and weather, share our creative and technical knowledge, and enjoy the camaraderie of exploring one of the world's most inspiring photographic destinations together.
